St Austell Moonscape

This is Little Johns clay pit. At a kilometer and a half long it's the largest pit of them all. The landscape reminded me of something otherworldly, the scale of the landscape was moonlike and inhuman. The one thing I found strange was the lack of humans, in this crazy man-made landscape there are only robots visible- the whole system is automated. This shows the intense development from natural inhabitation to human intervention and to technological takeover.
I created this drawing in response.
